Shuttles

Doing a ’shuttle’ is part and parcel of a day’s sea kayaking, normally by pre-placing one of your paddling companion’s car at the end of your journey. However when you are solo paddling, you need other means of getting yourself back to your own  car. So today the shuttle consisted of a short 8km bike ride into icy squalls which were being driven along by a blustery Northerly wind. This was after paddling from Rhiconich (nr Kinlochbervie) around into Loch Laxford - 18km. By the time I got back to my van, I was soaked to the skin. The things guidebook writer’s will do in order to explore and experience an area fully before writing up a trip!
