I’ve managed to squeeze in carrying out some research for the guidebook whilst recording radio programme about the Canoe Boys on the Isle of Skye. Speaking to local ferrymen and discovering an awesome restuarant which you can only access by kayak or boat.
Talking to the locals and weaving in their little ‘gems’ is a key part of part of researching an area for a guidebook. It’s not just about paddling a route, taking decent photos and collating tidal information!
