As you might expect there are many place names around the Isle of Skye which are derived from Gaelic and also Norse (due to Viking era) sources but I’ve discovered that there are some place names with the origins from Icelandic sources.

The Isle of Eigg has had an interesting past and is booming under a community ownership. The paddling around the coastline is dramatic and rewarding. I will upload some more photos and a description next weekend about some of the hidden places and things on Eigg paddler’s will come across.
