A friend, Simon gave me this 1947 copy of the Clyde Cruising Club’s Sailing Directions for the West Coast of Scotland earlier in the year. There are some lovely hand drawn diagrams for harbours, sea lochs and anchorages.
The text makes for interesting reading. Not much as you might think has changed in the preceeding 60 years apart from there is now much more detail in sailing directions, pilots and guidebooks.
I wonder what people will think of the Northwest Highlands sea guidebook in 60 years time - will it to stand the test of time?
