The raw but gentle power of the Sea of the Hebrides is clearly visible. This piece of sandstone (?) rock on the ‘Singing Sands’ beach on the Isle of Eigg, has been eroded into a graceful curve by the action of waves.
I suspect that there is banding in the rock with three possible different grades or types of rock present as the upper and middle layers seem different. However maybe one of the readers could shed some more light on the matter as geology isn’t one of my stronger strengths.

It got me thinking of this I saw in many places in Sardinia.
