The Caribbean

 paradise?

Crystal clear water. Golden sands. No crowds. Sounds like a perfect Carribbean retreat.

At timess the North West Highlands can be like the Caribbean but the year round chilly waters ensure not many paddler’s are seen spotted wearing bikinis and surf shorts. Most of the year a good set of thermals, kayaking cagoule and salopettes and wellies or other warm/stout footwear is far more appropriate.

Sometimes you are just glad to get ashore and get changed!

Time to get changed!

The saying “you can experience four seasons in one day in Scotland” is very true and poses a challenge for any paddler’s chosen clothing system.
