SCA Wild Camping Code

Camping on Isle of Eigg

Camping from a sea kayak is a special experience for us paddlers however it can be a potentially damaging experience for the coastal environment. By taking some simple steps and planning ahead we can limit our impact on the environment.

The draft code which has been prepared by the Scottish Canoe Assocation’s Access & Environment Officer, Mike Dales has some sound advice in it. On the whole, we sea kayaker’s are a responsible lot; however anything which prompts us to reflect on our actions in order to safeguard what treasure the most is most helpful! As to simply believe what we are doing now is correct and always will, be is a pretty narrow viewpoint.
