Sometimes just being afloat is the tonic to cure everything? I’ve been suffering from a really bad dose of cold/flu for almost 2 weeks now and have some seriously hard exams I’m attempting to revise for.

Off Elgol, Skye

I would prefer to be afloat however the reality is I can’t. So here’s some photos by Richard Cree of a very memorable day’s paddling around Soay, nr Skye last year.

Yup, I like floating too! That’s a nice view of Eigg from Soay. I had the oppositer view last Sunday from Ardnamurchan.

Good luck in the exams and get well soon. I always find some 18 year old golden “steadying liquid” goes down well at times like these.

    :o )

I’ve fine (open) bottles of 12yr old Highland Park and Talisker in the house, however I’m hankering after a bottle of 14yr old Scapa though.

I'm currently writing a sea kayaking guidebook for the Northwest Highlands; Cape Wrath to Ardnamurchan Point including Skye & the Small Isles. This blog will keep you updated as to my progress and hopefully the blog and in turn the book will inspire you experience the Northwest Highlands by sea kayak yourself.
